“Ellie” should excel in Eventing and Dressage. She has the "look at me" attitude that has made her dam and sister so successful in the show ring, with the movement and conformation to back up her opinion of herself. This is a striking filly that will be noticed in the ring regardless of discipline, whether she is under saddle or in hand. Her gaits are large with suspension and thrust from behind. All 3 gaits are uphill and she shows a natural tendency for "sit" and performs flying changes, pirouettes and the like naturally in the field. At just 2 1/2 months old, "Ellie" attended her first show. She loaded on the trailer and hauled with the show grounds like she had been doing it all her life. While at the show she demanded to be the center of attention from all that came near her stall or in the arena. She was 2nd in her class and received good marks and comments from the judge (Jos Severiens) at the show, including: "Good feminine type/expression, well balanced and proportional. Tracks well from behind. Shows good reach in trot. Good dressage prospect." There are VERY FEW Oskar fillies in the world - Oskar was not bred very much while Hoken owned him as he concentrated on the performance aspect. There are only 17 registered fillies with the ATA at this time, very few of which are for sale. Oskar is also the only Hockey stallion in the US at this time. This is an amazing opportunity for someone to own a daughter with these very rare and treasured bloodlines.

Ellie has been shown in hand as a yearling, and finished her year with a median score of 76.2%, she scored a 77.4%, 75.7% and a 76.2% at each show. The judges uniformly stated the following about her: "Good feminine type/expression, good length of leg, good length in neck, well prounced wither, well balanced and proportional. tracks well from behind and in front at both walk and trot, good energy, up hill tendencies. Shows good reach in trot. Good dressage prospect." These shows were all during a growth spurt too! She is very brave - at the Conyers GA facility (first time at a large facility) she never hesitated or spooked - she was always willing to go forward and do what her handler asked her to do. She also trailered from FL to ATL with 2 stallions on the trailer with her.

Oskar II *Pg* has competed through Grand Prix Dressage under Hoken Thorne with scores in the mid 60's. Oskar is of course by the great stallion Hockey who has produced over 40 offspring of international caliber horses at Grand Prix in both Jumping and Dressage. Oskar’s dam line carries the best and most successful jumping lines available in Russia, including Champion jumping stallion, Ossian, and his grandson, Blesk, who was the USSR Champion in Jumping. Blesk also sired Russian Dance out of Tabor, Quixotte Priboy out of Priboj, Velbot, and the well known stallion, Biotop, who was an International Dressage Champion under R. Klimke.

Ellie is out of our PSB approved mare, Encore. She competed in hunters through 3' and jumpers to Level 3 with great success and was only limited to her owner's abilities. She was also schooled to 3'rd level dressage. Through the dam line she combines some of the best sport horse Thoroughbred lines of Diplomat Way, Jet Baby, and Nashau. She also has some of the older, more difficult to find (but valuable for sport horse breeding) lines of Bagatel, Mikado, and Burnus fairly close up. Her brothers and sister are proving themselves in the show ring just as her dam and sire have done.

Ellie's full sister, Emerald Fire, was recently named the ATA's 3 yo HOY for fillies, was the winner of the In Hand Futurity for 3 yo (against fillies and colts/geldings), was Grand Champion of the Mare/Foal Show at the ATA Convention (judged by the Verband's Breed Director with the remark that she is what the breed should be breeding for), as well as Reserve Champion of the Mare Inspection at the Convention (tied with the Grand Champion who was a 7 yo mare) - with high scores including a "9" for type. Emerald Fire was also the 2008 Yearling Filly USDF HOY as well as winning ATA’s HOY in hand every year with scores in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. Ellie shows promise that she will fill her big sisters shoes easily and will have the same sort of successes in the show ring.

We expect that she will get to be 16.2 hh – her full sister stands 16.1 at the age of 4 and is still growing.   She has been free jumped once and was a natural at it - she went through the chute with little encouragement and showed great scope and form over the fences.
